It all started with a dream.

No, really. The name exploradium* came to me when I was asleep in 2018, and upon waking I scrawled it immediately on some paper before I forgot it.

When I was about 17, I was starting to get frustrated with the limited options for fashion and art here in Australia. I had all these ‘ideal’ garments circulating around in my head 24/7, but couldn’t find them in reality. So really, exploradium* was originally an avenue for me to make clothes that I wanted to wear.

However, while creating a small batch for a school project, I became impassioned with the beauty of the ability to share my own concepts, ideas and aesthetics with the world around me. It was then that I decided to actually create my own clothing brand - one that was oriented around two of my most treasured values: self-awareness and artistic expression.

I made exploradium* to show the importance of turning our back to the fakeness of Hollywood (the plastic county). By deconstructing motifs typical of the ‘American Dream,’ we can show the insanity and failure of wanting it all. exploradium* is made for those of you who dream of shedding the world’s values and chasing what is truly valuable.

exploradium* is the ultimate rejection.

It is a moment.

A fleeting concept.

A desire to live with all that you’ve got.

If you love experiencing every aspect of alternative life to the fullest, whether that be sitting around a fire with mates after a hiking trip and looking up at the stars, or working on a project with your mates, or even just getting out and having a surf and music jam with your mates, then exploradium* was made for you.

Love,

Mitchell Douglas
